dc.description.abstract-translatedResearch of entrepreneurship today is an important area, where results are used not only in the academic field, but also in order to find possible solutions in the financial and economic crisis, as well as designing forms of business support and thus stimulate economic growth. This article contains the results of an analysis of the profile of entrepreneurs in Slovakia based on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) data, as well as regional and international comparison. In addition to the description of the theoretical model and research background, we also describe the way the entrepreneurial profile is created in terms of the research (GEM). The findings of the analysis are an appropriate basis for the creation and application of support programs and policies in Slovakia.en
