Abstract
This paper addresses additional losses in dry-type transformers, specifically focusing on stray electromagnetic, dielectric, thermal conduction, and mechanical vibration losses occurring in structural and non-active components. The study highlights the necessity of identifying, quantifying, and minimizing these losses through advanced computational methods, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and experimental techniques including thermography and acoustic emission testing. Results underline the significant impact of material selection and structural optimization on reducing additional losses, thereby enhancing transformer efficiency, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
