dc.description.abstractDiplomová práce s názvem Velká Británie na cestě k mírové konferenci ve Versailles mapuje období dějin Velké Británie v období od podepsání příměří v listopadu 1918 do začátku konání mírové konference ve Versailles v lednu 1919. Londýn jako důležitý člen válečné koalice usiloval o to, aby po skončení války prosadil co nejvíce svých cílů, mezi něž bezesporu patřily porážka Centrálních mocností a obnovení velmocenské pozice země.Ve Velké Británii existovaly plány na mír již od roku 1916. Již premiér Herbert Asquith v roce 1916 připravoval návrhy na poválečný mír. Dalšími, kteří se podíleli na přípravách, byli i sir Ralph Paget a sir William Tyrell z ministerstva zahraničí. Jejich memoranda a debaty položily základ prvních návrhů poválečného vývoje.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis diploma thesis, titled The United Kingdom on a way towards the peace conference in Versailles, documents a part of the history of the UK from the truce signing in November 1918 to the start of the peace conference in Versailles in January 1919.London, as an important member to the war coalition, strove for to enforce as many as possible of its goals after the war, among which were undoubtedly defeating of the Central Powers and restoring a position of a great power.Peace plans existed in the UK since the year 1916. Even the prime minister Asquith in the year 1916 was preparing drafts of the post-war peace. Other, who contributed to the preparations, were Sir Ralph Paget and Sir William Tyrell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their memoranda and debates lay down the foundation for the first proposal of the post-war course of actionen
