dc.description.abstractTato bakalářské práce se zaměřuje na dekolonizaci britských území v Oceánii ve druhé polovině 20. století, konkrétně mezi lety 1968-1980. Zaměřuje se na důvody, které vedly Brity ke kolonizaci, jejich aktivitu v regionu během kolonizace a na příčiny dekolonizace Oceánie. Každé území je zpracováno jako samostatná případová studie, která mapuje situaci při příchodu Britů, jak se měnila britská správa kolonizovaného území, roli v rámci impéria a okolnosti vyhlášení nezávislosti. Dále popisuje výzvy, kterým nově vzniklé státy čelily a čelí a jaký panuje vztah mezi dekolonizovanými územími a Spojeným Královstvím Velké Británie a Severního Irska v současnosti.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis bachelor thesis focuses on the decolonisation of British territories in Oceania in the second half of the 20th century, specifically between the years 1968-1980. It focuses on the reasons that led the Britons to colonize, their activity in the region during colonization and the causes of the decolonization of Oceania. Each territory is done as a separate case study, that describes the situation when the British arrived, how the British administration of the colonized territory evolved throughout the years, the role of the territory within the empire, and the circumstances surrounding the declaration of independence. It also describes the challenges that the newly independent states faced and continue to face and the relationship between the decolonised territories and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland today.en
