| dc.description.abstract-translated | Non-destructive characterization is crucial for the future safe disposal of radioactive waste. To analyze both quantitative and qualitative features of a waste drum, techniques such as gamma spectrometry and radiographic imaging are used. For industrial applications, a graphical user interface (GUI) was developed at the Nuclear Research Institute (ÚJV Řež) to optimize the characterization process, verify the homogeneity and structure of processed waste. The application displays the distribution of intensities and detected gamma energies corresponding to individual radionuclides, enabling a deeper understanding of the drum’s contents. The outcome includes a graphical comparison of the spatial distribution of activity with the internal structure of the drum. | en |
