dc.description.abstractBakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem a proměnou americko-brazilských vztahů. Cílem práce je vysvětlit, jak se vyvíjely vzájemné vztahy Brazílie a USA v oblasti obchodu a bezpečnosti v letech 1991 až 2020. Po konci studené války, respektive bipolárního uspořádání, přestala být mezinárodní politika do značné míry ovlivňována dynamikou bipolární konfrontace. To napomohlo nezápadním regionálním mocnostem posílit své postavení na světové úrovni. Ty tak začaly interagovat se Spojenými státy americkými, jakožto hlavní světovou mocností. Jednou z těchto regionálních mocností byla Brazílie. V rámci kapitol mé bakalářské práce představím oblasti, ve kterých Spojené státy a Brazílie spolupracovaly. Těmito oblastmi jsou například obchod, bezpečnost, alternativní biopaliva aj. Mimo oblasti spolupráce se v práci věnuji i sporným událostem, které v období let 1991 až 2020 mezi Spojenými státy americkými a Brazílií nastaly. Uvádím tak například americko-brazilský spor o bavlně, jež byl řešen na půdě jedné z mezinárodních organizací.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis bachelor thesis deals with the development and transformation of US-Brazilian relations. After the end of the bipolar conflict (the Cold War) international politics ceased to be largely influenced by the dynamics of bipolar confrontation. This has helped the non-Western regional powers to strengthen their position at the world level. And so they began to interact with the United States, as the world's major power. One of these regional powers was Brazil, a member of the BRICS, which in addition to Brazil also includes Russia, India, China and South Africa. These countries are described as the fastest growing economies, which combine global cooperation with each other and regional competition. The United States cooperates with Brazil in a number of areas - for example, biofuels, defense, security, trade, technology, space exploration, the environment, education, etc. Given that Brazil and the United States cooperates in a number of areas, I have decided to focus on trade and security. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to explain how the mutual relations between Brazil and the USA in the field of trade and security are developing in the years 1991 to 2020. For example, I focused on the American and Brazilian views on the creation of the American Free Trade Area, American-Brazilian cooperation in Haiti within the framework of the UN MINUSTAH mission, or the American-Brazilian fight against terrorism. However, there were (and still are), disputes between Brazil and the United States, for example the cotton dispute or the American and Brazilian views on nuclear weapons etc. But despite some disputes, both countries are strong partners.en
