dc.description.abstract-translatedThis paper analyzes the fate of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Czechoslovak Republic between 1948 and 1952. This period represented a fundamental transformation of the regime and the functioning of all bodies of state and public power, moving from the remnants of post-war democracy towards full totalitarian control. The paper primarily uses archival materials to demonstrate the process by which the communist regime gradually liquidated the independent judicial review of public administration. The paper focuses on the Supreme Administrative Court in Bratislava, which, post-1948, faced unique challenges. The culmination of its politicization was manifested in socialist pledges and the direct application of a class-based approach in case law, which was defined by the Political Directives of 1951 with a new ideal: socialist legality. This new legality, however, was not to be guaranteed by the Supreme Administrative Court, but by the newly established Soviet-style prosecution authorities.en
