dc.description.abstract	Již od vzniku prezidentského úřadu v USA se stala velmi významnou osobou i první dáma. Povinnosti ani úloha první dámy nejsou obsaženy v Ústavě, proto si je každá manželka prezidenta definovala převážně sama. V průběhu let přibývalo jejich aktivit, ale také vlivu. Zejména pak ve druhé polovině 20. století veřejnost od první dámy očekávala, že bude nejen tradiční hostitelkou v Bílém domě, ale že bude také reprezentovat USA ve světě a stane se vzorem pro americké ženy. Tato bakalářská práce se tedy zaměřuje na činnosti manželek amerických prezidentů ve druhé polovině 20. století. Je zde analyzována role prvních dam po boku amerických prezidentů, jejich účast na prezidentské kampani, následně jejich činnost v Bílém domě, charitativní činnost a případné úspěchy v různých oblastech vnitřní i zahraniční politiky USA.	cs
dc.description.abstract-translated	Since the inception of the US presidency, the first lady has also become a very significant person. The duties and the role of the first lady are not included in the Constitution, so each wife of the president defines it moreless by herself. Over the years, their activities and influence have been increasing. Especially in the second half of the 20th century the public from the first lady expected not only to be a traditional hostess in the White House, but also to represent the United States in the world and become a pattern for American women. This bachelor thesis focuses on the activities of American Presidents' wives in the second half of the 20th century. It analyzes the role of the first ladies alongside US presidents, their participation in the presidential campaign, their activities in the White House, charity activities and possible successes in various areas of US domestic and foreign policy.	en
