The concept of a sensor element based on an organic electrochemical transistor is presented. The sensor is aimed at detecting gaseous nitrogen dioxide in low concentrations from 1 ppm. The proposed solution represents high sensitivity compared to conventional electrochemical sensors, high system stability and energy-saving operation, with quiescent consumption in the order of nW at voltage levels below 100 mV. The advantage of the concept is the possibility to produce the structure of the sensor by full printing methods.en
