dc.description.abstractFrantišek Josef I. nastoupil na trůn v roce 1848 jako osmnáctiletý mladík, po abdikaci svého strýce Ferdinanda I. Politická situace v zemi byla nestabilní a proto byl nadějí pro monarchii. Lid očekával nové změny, ale změny nepřicházeli. Z politického hlediska František Josef I. oplývá nedostatkem zkušeností, což zapříčiní mnoho zahraničněpolitických neúspěchům a nespokojenosti v monarchii. Zkušenosti jako generál a vojevůdce není jeho silná stránka, avšak nedá se mu odepřít snaha o udržení monarchie. František Josef I. vládl Habsburské monarchii 68 let. Většina historiků se zabývalo spíše politickou stránkou Františka Josefa I. avšak jeho osobní život byl opomíjen. Proto se ve své práci zaměřím především na jeho osobní život a soukromé vztahy, které mnohdy ovlivnily jeho rozhodnutí.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedFranz Joseph I. entered the throne in 1848 after abdication his uncle Ferdinand I. He took the throne as eighteen-year man. The political situation was very unstable in the country and therefore he was a hope for the monarchy. The public expected new reforms, but the reforms did not come. For political view Franz Joseph I. did not have enough experience, which has caused many foreign-policy failures and dissatisfaction in monarchy, however we cannot deny the effort to maintain the monarchy. Franz Joseph I. ruled the Habsburg monarchy for 68 years. Most historians are interested in the political life of Franz Joseph I. but his personal life was neglected. I think these personal relationships often influenced his decision in the political sphere. For that I focused on personal life and personal relationships in my work.en
