dc.description.abstractThis paper presents a detailed study of the thermal management and synchronization of a two-channel single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) system designed to power warning light bulbs in level-crossing signalling devices. The system replaces an older model, offering enhanced electrical performance and more compact dimensions. Thermal optimization is achieved by comparing heat dissipation strategies, including attaching heat sinks to the package top versus the PCB bottom. The analysis shows significant improvements in thermal management with bottom cooling. Additionally, synchronization techniques, particularly through external clocking, are employed to ensure stable operation and mitigate interference between converters. Experimental results validate both the thermal models and synchronization approach, showcasing reduced noise, and reliable converter performance.en
