dc.description.abstractPráce popisuje vývoj oblasti jižní Afriky ke konci 19. a začátku 20. století z politického ale i ekonomického a sociálního hlediska. Pozornost je věnována počátku Afrikánské státnosti a národního obrození které ji provázelo a snahy Británie se vyrovnat s přítomností konkurenční protibritské evropské populace v oblasti. Z ekonomických hledisek je zdůrazněn rozvoj těžebního průmyslu a jeho role v eventuelním střetu mezi afrikánskými státy a Británií. Práce pak popisuje období reformace politické scény po konci Búrské války a nástup nových afrikánských politických stran. To je následováno popisem vzniku a fungování nově vytvořené Unie jako jejích problémů. Práce je zakončena popisem a analýzou pádu Jihoafrické strany, vzestupu koalice labouristů a nacionalistů a jejích kroků.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedthis thesis describes the development in the area of South africa at the end of 19th and beginnng of 20th century from political, social and economic aspects. It satarts by describing afrikaner national revival movement as well as the statehood of afrikaner republics and their relations to british attempt at establishing hold in the area allready populated by other europeans. The development of mining industry is described as well as it´s role in the evntual clash between the republics and british empire that led to the annexation of them into new colonies. The focus of describing this new system then lies on understanding the reorganisation of political life and the pushes that led to the establishmen of the Union of South Africa. The role of first world war and social unrest on the workings of the Union are then analysed and described as the causes for the fall of the Sotuh African Party and rise of the LAbour-Nationalist coalition. Their steps and policies in goveremnt are mentioned briefly to compare them with the previous goverment.en
