dc.description.abstract-translatedThe article deals with the crisis of modern democracy and law. It sees its main sources in the following trends: the growth of income and property inequality, the concentration of political power in the hands of the professional elite, differ- entiated access to justice, the hypertrophy of the security apparatus, the growth of the number of hard-to-assimilate immigrants, the influence of the ideology of cultural and moral relativism, the decline in the birth rate, radical pacifism, de- valuation of the institution of citizenship, demilitarization of society, uncontrolled growth of the influence of alternative media, spread of disinformation and hy- brid war against Western democracies, virtual political parties, growth of political populism, population aging, power challengers from the former periphery. Law is degraded by the following factors: hypertrophy of law, high frequency of changes, inflation of law, ideologization of law, sexualization of law, commercialization of law, politicization of law, dualism of national and European law.en
