| dc.description.abstract-translated | The text deals with a high medieval fortification located north of the village of Vřesník in the Podkrkonoší region. The site currently consists only of the castle core, which is partially surrounded by a trench and rampart. The only remnant of the inner buildings is a sunken rectangular feature in the northern part of the core. A surface survey and geophysical measurements were carried out at the site. Based on the finds, the castle can be dated to the end of the 13th and the course of the 14th century. Geophysical surveys revealed anomalies within the core that can be associated with a light form of perimeter fortification, while no distinct structures were detected in the castle‘s foreground. Based on the small number of finds and the unfinished trench, it is possible that the construction of the settlement was not fully completed. This possibility would be consistent with the absence of structures at the site of the presumed outer bailey. The castle certainly cannot be linked to the historical toponym of Bělušice, which appeared only at the end of the 15th century, as has been custom so far in scientific and regional literature. | en |
