dc.description.abstract-translatedThis work is focused on the development assistance of 4 countries of the Visegrad Group, namely Poland, the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic and Hungary. The main aim is to answer the research questions (defined below) through the comparison of certain elements of their development assistance politics, primarily the aid allocation as well as the motives and goals of the development assistance. The main premise of this work is that there are generally two models for explaining aid allocation ? the ?recipient need? and the ?donor interest? models. The work aims to find out the answer to the first research question ? which of 4 countries behaves the most ?egoistic? that means within the ?donor interest? model, and on the contrary which one behaves the most ?altruistic? according to the ?recipient need? model. The second research question is which of the Visegrad countries provided between 2004 and 2011 the largest share of its official development assistance to the Sub-Saharan Africa which is the world poorest region. The work is divided into 4 parts. The first one deals with the theories of the development cooperation and also introduces the main terms of the work and the modern beginnings of providing development assistance by the Visegrad countries. The second part introduces the current form of the development aid of individual Visegrad countries from 2004 to 2011 and the third part is the comparison of the elements mentioned above. The last part of the work sums up all the findings.en
