dc.description.abstract-translatedIn her contribution, the author focuses on the criminal law regulation of the crime of defamation in the context of freedom of speech. As part of the contribution, the author also focuses on the requirements set by the European Court of Human Rights for criminal sanctions. It assesses their compliance with the currently valid and effective wording of § 373 of Act no. 300/2005 Coll. criminal code with reference to application problems.en
