| dc.description.abstract-translated | Not in all cases does the accused have an interest in having his case dealt with quickly. On the contrary, he or she may try to make the criminal proceedings last as long as possible. In such situations, we speak of obstruction of justice, which is most successful in court proceedings. One of the cases that occur very often in practice is the repeated excuses of the accused from the court hearing in a situation where the accused insists on his presence at the same time, or where the legal conditions for hearing the case in his absence are not met. The simplest, most effective and in practice frequently used method is to justify excuses on medical grounds. After the analysis, it is concluded that the effective legislation, in conjunction with the relevant case law, offers means to counter such procedural obstruction. At the same time, however, it concludes that situations may arise which cannot be dealt with effectively. | en |
