dc.description.abstract-translatedOne of the most current phenomena, which is dealt with by the top levels of law enforcement authorities specializing in economic crime, is crime committed through so-called alternative funds. In response to the numerous violations of the legal regulations governing their activities, an amendment to the Act on Investment Companies is currently being discussed, which should set stricter operating rules for these entrepreneurs. The article deals with its effectiveness in terms of crime prevention, especially taking into account the current modus operandi of perpetrators of this type of economic crime. The author critically evaluates the intended new legislation, because despite the introduction of stricter rules for the functioning of these funds, the amendment does not include the introduction of an effective control mechanism, and therefore it is reasonable to assume that a decrease in crime in this area will not occur without further ado.en
