Abstract
This paper proposes a new high step-up DC-DC converters (HSCs) for renewable energy conversion systems. This work primarily focuses on investigating novel topologies of HGCs with different voltage multiplier cells (VMCs) and active clamp cells. These converters have significant merits such as reduced voltage and current stresses in the switching devices and improves overall efficiency at higher output power levels. Secondly, zero voltage switching (ZVS)/zero current switching (ZCS) is obtained with the help of auxiliary cells. Soft-switching high step-up converters (S-HSCs) can reduce turn-on/turn-off switching losses, thus improving overall effectiveness of the converter. In this paper, four topologies are proposed, major benefit being reduced component count as compared with the existing versions. The operating principles and simulation analysis of the proposed topologies are presented and the simulation evaluations are performed on the 15V/300V/500W converter systems.
