dc.description.abstractDiplomová práce analyzuje postkoloniální vývoj dvou jihoafrických států, konkrétně Botswany a Zimbabwe, a to optikou teorie slabé státnosti, přičemž teoretický rámec práce tvoří kniha editovaná R. Rotbergem "When States Fail" a kniha P. Colliera "The Bottom Billion". Případové studie zkoumají situaci států od získání jejich nezávislosti až do současnosti na pozadí teorií a vybraných komparačních kritérií. Práce si spolu s analýzou postkoloniálního vývoje zemí klade otázku, zda na úspěch či neúspěch daných států měly větší vliv vnější či vnitřní vlivy.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThrough the lens of weak statehood, this thesis looks at two African states, namely Botswana and Zimbabwe. Thus, the thesis analyses these states from the weak, failing and failed states perspective, which was developed by Robert Rotberg (ed.), and formulated in his book "When States Fail: Causes and Consequences". The second theory used in this thesis was introduced by Paul Collier and is described in his book "The Bottom Billion: Why the Poorest Countries are Failing and What Can Be Done About It". The aim of this thesis was to analyse the post-colonial developments of Botswana and Zimbabwe. In order to achieve this goal, it was necessary to pose a question whether the success or failure of Botswana and Zimbabwe is connected with internal or external influences.en
