dc.description.abstractCílem práce je analyzovat rituály a motivy smrti zobrazené v alžbětinských dramatech, a to v dílech Williama Shakespeara a Thomase Kyda, se zaměřením na pojetí smrti a koncepce očistce v soudobé (literární) kultuře. Úvodní část práce je zaměřena na alžbětinskou dobu, koncept smrti a očistce a také vztah tohoto období ke smrti, pohřebním rituálům a životu po smrti. Další část je o náboženské reformace 16. století v Evropě, konkrétně v Anglii, a přechodu od katolicismu k protestantismu. Další kapitola rozebírá alžbětinské divadlo a vliv reformace na jeho vývoj, především vzhled na smrt v divadelních inscenacích. Další kapitoly se věnují tvorbě Williama Shakespeare a analýze jeho jednotlivých díl, a to Hamlet a Romeo a Julie a dílo Thomase Kyda Španělská tragédie, související s tématem smrti a pohřebních rituálů. Poslední část práce se soustředí na souvislosti pomsty v Hamletovi a Španělské tragédii.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe aim of the work is to analyze the rituals and motifs of death depicted in Elizabethan dramas, namely in the works of William Shakespeare and Thomas Kyd, focusing on the concept of death and the concept of purgatory in contemporary (literary) culture. The introductory part of the thesis is focused on the Elizabethan period, the concept of death and purgatory, as well as the relationship of this period to death, funeral rituals and life after death. The next part is about the religious reformation of the 16th century in Europe, specifically in England, and the transition from Catholicism to Protestantism. The next chapter analyzes the Elizabethan theater and the influence of the Reformation on its development, especially the appearance of death in theatrical productions. Other chapters are devoted to the work of William Shakespeare and the analysis of his individual works, namely Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet and Thomas Kyd's work The Spanish Tragedy, related to the theme of death and funeral rituals. The last part of the work focuses on the connection between revenge in Hamlet and The Spanish Tragedy.en
