dc.description.abstract-translatedAct V of 2013 on the Civil Code (hereinafter: Civil Code) has placed the legal material governing de facto life partners on completely new foundations, the changes can be detected especially in relation to property relations. The aim of the regulation is to establish independence and self-reliance regarding the relationship between the partners. Act IV of 1959 on the Civil Code of the Republic of Hungary (hereinafter: old Civil Code) the property regime of de facto partners was derived from the rules of the civil law society. Civil partnerships were first recognised as existing legal institutions in Hungary in 1977, when the legislator placed them in the contract law section, the effect of which can still be felt today, as most of the rules relating to partners are contained in the Obligation Book of the Civil Code in force. The purpose of my presentation is to present the Hungarian legislation governing civil partners.en
