dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce se zabývá klíčovými aspekty vztahů mezi médií a terorismem. V první kapitole je rozebrána problematika definice terorismu a jeho typologie. Následující kapitola se věnuje teorii vztahů mezi médií a terorismem a popisuje čtveřici základních úrovní získávání vlivu teroristickými organizacemi: získávání pozornosti, sdělování motivů, získávání respektu a sympatií a legitimizace. Třetí kapitola se věnuje soubežnému vývoji vztahů medií a terorismu. Postupně jsou rozebrány jednotlivé etapy: prehistorická etapa, etapa tisku jako prvního masového média, etapa televizního terorismu a nová média a jejich využití teroristickými organizacemi. Poslední kapitola se věnuje televiznímu zpravodajství a jeho tématům před a po 11. září 2001 v souvislostmi s teroristickými útoky. Následuje závěr práce a shrnutí zjištěných poznatků.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedObjective of this Bachelor Thesis is focusing on key aspects of relations between media and terrorism. With respect to the objective of this thesis, issues of terrorism definition and typology were analyzed and specified in first chapter. Second chapter is focusing on theoretical approaches towards the media-terrorism relations. Four media-dependent objectives of terrorist organizations were analyzed in this chapter: gaining attention, recognition of motives, gaining respect and sympathy, gaining legitimacy. Few selected cases were also analyzed from symbolic and strategic point of view. Third core chapter is analyzing simultaneous development of media and terrorism. First, prehistorical, era introduces the very beginnings of terrorist tactics, followed by second era, focused on printed newspapers as a first mass-medium and its terrorist use. Third part of this chapter analyzes era of ?television terrorism? and specific issues and phenomenons closely connected to that topic. Last part of this chapter is focusing on ?new media? and its use by terrorist organizations. Next chapter is analyzing very specific issue 9/11 terrorist attacks image in evening news shows on three major television networks ABC, CBS and NBC. Case study is focusing on hard news appearance on air in three specific time periods: June 2001, October 2001 and early 2002. The very last chapter is presenting conlusion and discussion over the objective of this thesis.en
