dc.description.abstractCílem mé bakalářské práce je co nejlépe popsat všechna obléhání Gibraltaru. Hlavně ta, která probíhala mezi křesťany a muslimy. Každé obléhání popíši zvlášť a popíši okolnosti, které vedly ke každé bitvě. Každá bitva byla jiná a měla mnoho aspektů. Gibraltar je důležitý strategický bod, který umožňoval panovníkovi kontrolovat úžinu. Vždy tedy stálo za to o něj bojovat. Úžina byla tak důležitá, že zastínila pevnost samotnou. Dobytí Gibraltaru vždy o něco zvýšilo moc jakéhokoli vládce v okolí. V tomto případě a období hovoříme pouze o Kastílii, Maurech a emirátu Granada.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe aim of my Bachelor Thesis is to describe as much as possible all the sieges of Gibraltar. The only ones which were between Christendom and Muslims. I will describe each siege separately and describe the circumstances which led to each battle. Each battle was different and had many aspects. Gibraltar is an important strategic point which allowed the ruler to control The Strait. So, it has been always worth fighting for. The Strait was so important it overshadowed the Fortress itself. The taking of Gibraltar always a little increased the power of any power nearby. In this case and period, we are talking only about Castile, Moors and Emirate of Granada.en
