dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce se zabývá používáním nespisovných anglických výrazů a prostředků větné kondenzace v textech současné populární hudby. Teoretická část popisuje spisovný a nespisovný jazyk s ohledem na angličtinu, různé přístupy ke gramatice a jevy anglické hovorové syntaxe spolu s prostředky větné kondenzace, jako jsou nefinitní věty a neslovesné věty. Práce zahrnuje také praktickou část, která obsahuje analýzy 25 vybraných textů popových písní, z nichž vyplývá, že nejčastěji se vyskytujícím jevem v analyzovaných textech je elipsa. Analýza předkládá zjištěné poznatky v připojeném komentáři, který odhaluje, že zpěvačky a zpěváci volí odlišné syntaktické struktury a každý z nich má svůj osobitý styl, který podmiňuje jejich volbu slov. Výsledky analýzy také odhalují, že mladší umělci používají ve svých textech více hovorových výrazů než starší umělci. Zjištění navíc odhalila, že mužští interpreti vykazují preferenci pro používání prostředků větné kondenzace bez ohledu na věk, zatímco ženské interpretky nikoli.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis undergraduate thesis investigates the usage of non-standard English expressions and means of sentence condensation in the lyrics of contemporary pop music. The theoretical part describes standard and non-standard language with respect to English, different approaches to grammar, and phenomena of English colloquial syntax along with means of sentence condensation such as non-finite clauses and verbless clauses. The thesis also entails a practical part, which contains analyses of 25 chosen pop song lyrics, which reveal that the most frequently occurring phenomenon detected in the lyrics is the ellipsis. The analysis presents the findings with attached commentary, disclosing that female and male artists opt for different syntactic structures, and each has a unique style which determines their choice of words. The results of analysis also reveal that younger artists use more colloquial expressions in their lyrics than older artists. Moreover, the findings disclosed that male singers exhibit a preference for means of sentence condensation regardless of age, whereas female artists do not.en
