| dc.description.abstract-translated | This article explores the role of industrial exports in shaping Slovakia's economy, focusing on the dominance of machinery, mechanical appliances, and transport equipment in the export structure. It examines the challenges posed by reliance on foreign markets, low diversification, and global competition. The study utilizes hierarchical clustering to analyze export data from 2010 to 2023, sourced from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, employing Ward’s method and Euclidean distance to group export sectors based on trade volumes. Results reveal six clusters that highlight the varying dynamics of heavy industrial sectors and specialized export categories. The findings show that while Slovakia benefits from its strong industrial export base, its heavy dependence on price competitiveness and limited product diversification present long-term vulnerabilities. It concludes that strategic industrial modernization and diversification are vital for maintaining Slovakia's competitiveness and ensuring the resilience of its export sector in an increasingly globalized economy. | en |
