dc.description.abstract-translatedThis paper gives a comprehensive overview of the responses and reviews of modern historiography of the 19th to 21st centuries to Pelcl’s treatise Geschichte der Deutschen und ihrer Sprache in Böhmen, which was published in two volumes in 1789 and 1790 [1791] as part of the so-called Abhandlungen (Treatises) of the Bohemian Society of Sciences, respectively the Royal Bohe- mian Society of Sciences. The submitted text deals with the development of the perception of Pelcl’s work, which gradually evolved and changed during this period and was constantly reinterpreted by members of the historical community.
