dc.description.abstractPráce se zabývá třemi příběhy Den trifidů od Johna Wyndhama, 28 dní poté od Alexe Garlanda a Živí mrtví od Roberta Kirkmana. Práce se zaměřuje na historii zombie a trifidů a jejich spojení s kolonialismem a postkolonialismem. Zkoumá původ slova zombie z Haiti kultury a jak je spojeno s pandemií covid-19. Fenomén othering (jiný) se používá k analýze vztahů mezi přeživšími a také masožravými monstry. Následně práce poznamenává podrobnosti mezi konzumerismem, kapitalismem a zombie. Kromě toho zkoumá rozdíly mezi těmito třemi příběhy a tím, jak vyobrazijí konkrétní přeživší a skupiny jako zlé diktátory.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe thesis deals with three narratives The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham, 28 Days Later written by Alex Garland, and The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman. It focuses on the history of zombies and triffids and their connection to colonialism and post-colonialism. It explores the Haiti origin of the word zombie and how it is associated with the covid-19 pandemic. The phenomenon of othering is used to analyze the relationships between survivors and also the carnivorous monsters. It subsequently comments on the similarities between consumerism, capitalism, and zombies. Furthermore, it explores the differences between the three narratives and how they depict specific survivors and groups as villainous dictators.en
