Power Management of Timepix3 Measurement Chain

Abstract

This article presents a novel approach to enhance the power subsystem of Timepix3 detector networks’ data concentrator units, focusing on power provision to Timepix3 chipboards. The proposed system addresses limitations of the current subsystem by introducing remote operation capabilities, resilience in ionizing radiation and magnetic field environments, and redundancy options. Utilizing isoSPI technology for communication and STM32 microcontrollers for control, the system enables efficient monitoring and management. Successful deployment at the Atlas Experiment in CERN underscores its efficacy, with future developments targeting design simplification and enhanced testing protocols.
