dc.description.abstractThis paper describes and tests Sodium-Ion batteries, a new type of battery that is beginning to be supplied for industrial use. The aim of the work is to verify the battery's properties in order to develop and design a BMS (Battery Management System) unit capable of operating with this type of battery. The tested properties were subsequently implemented into the BMS unit. A test stand was built using the BMS unit, which features both active and passive balancing. Compared to lithium-based batteries, sodium-ion batteries promise higher safety and lower cost, making them a strong candidate for future large-scale energy storage solutions.en
