dc.description.abstractCílem práce je analyzovat příčiny americké občanské války a to jak v hospodářské, tak i v politické a společenské sféře. Rostoucí rozdíly mezi průmyslově rostoucím severem a otrokářským jihem způsobily separaci veřejného mínění v různých částech Ameriky, což vedlo ke zrodu dalších prediktorů občanské války, v jejichž kontextu bude analyzován například abolicionismus, ekonomické soupeření, kulturní odlišnosti, tzv. Krvavý Kansas, povstání Johna Browna či samotný vznik Konfederačních států amerických. V politických souvislostech se autor primárně zaměří na okolnosti vzniku americké Republikánské strany a na následný růst jejího vlivu. V závěru se práce soustředí na počátky samotné občanské války, konkrétně na události z dubna roku 1861, respektive na dobytí pevnosti Fort Sumter, což zpečetilo osud smírného řešení budoucího konfliktu.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the origins of the American Civil War. The work seeks to summarize development of the United States of America since the end of the American War of Independence. Following the development, work is mainly focusing on political and economic background. For understanding reasons of the war, it is really important to have several factors in mind - most of the importance primary consist on economic development, westward expansion and political reactions to these events. First gulf between northern and southern part of the United States was created already during the colonization era when southern states duplicated economical and aristocratic pattern of Great Britain. Northern states, on the other hand, were much more depending on the international trade, mainly with Great Britain. After the war of the independence was won and the new republic was created, differences between north and south became more obvious. Growing political crisis led to the slow destruction of north political parties and simultaneously to the creation of the Republican Party. When Abraham Lincoln became the first republican president, the civil war was inevitable.en
