dc.description.abstractTématem práce je zkoumání dopadu nezaměstnanosti na fyzické a psychické zdraví. Významnou souvislost mezi socioekonomickým statusem a zdravotním stavem doložila celá řada domácích a zahraničních studií. Sociologičtí i medicínští badatelé shledávají zaměstnanecký status, tj. skutečnost, zda se jedinec nachází v pracovním procesu či nikoliv, za jeden z nejsignifikantnějších socioekonomických faktorů ovlivňujících zdraví. V teoretické části jsou nastíněny vybrané aspekty a témata, jimiž se sociologové a medicínsky orientovaní výzkumníci zabývají. Metodologická část se bude nejprve věnovat stručnému představení možností, kterak lze v empirických studiích pojednávajících o zdravotních dopadech nezaměstnanosti měřit zdravotní stav. V této souvislosti bude diskutováno, nakolik může ukazatel subjektivního pocitu zdraví sloužit jako spolehlivý nástroj pro měření efektů ztráty práce. Poslední sekce bude věnována vzájemným vazbám mezi zaměstnaneckým statusem a úrovní zdraví jedince.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe study examines the impact of unemployment on the individual´s physical and mental well-being. In the theoretical part there are briefly introduced several themes and spheres, on which sociological and medical researches focus.In this part there is also outlined a historical evolution in exploration the impacts of individual´s experience of jobloss. It is also discussed, to what degrese is impact of jobloss mediated by gender, age, and level of educational attainment. The positive association between education and health is in studies well established. Compared to the poorly educated, well educated respondents are less likely to be unemployed, are more likely to work fulltime, to have fulfilling, subjectively rewarding jobs, high incomes, and low economic hardship. These all aspects significantly improve health. The well educated individuals report a greater sense of control over their lives and health. The age is also significant predictor of health impact in consequence of unemployment. However, researchers interfere with the problem of reverse causality in this level of investigation, i.e. whether health affects the employment or whether the employment status affects health.en
