| dc.description.abstract-translated | In the working environment, the concept of the value of an employee‘s work can be expressed by the equivalent of money, salary, salary. An old Slovak proverb says: „Like work, like pay“. The old Slovak proverb took into account gender equality in remuneration more than some modern employers. The aim of this article is to approximate Directive (EU) 2023/970 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 May 2023, which strengthens the application of the principle of equal pay for men and women for equal work or work of equal value through pay transparency and enforcement mechanisms, which aims to introduce greater transparency in the remuneration of employers and by imposing additional obligations on employers. The established principles support equal opportunities and fairness in the workplace, while they are enshrined in the legislation of the European Union, which emphasizes equal remuneration conditions throughout Europe. Traditional gender stereotypes often devalue women‘s work and a coordinated approach is needed to eliminate them. Among the proposed mechanisms listed in the Equal Pay Directive are the introduction of mandatory salary audits, increasing the obligation of public reporting of remuneration data and strengthening legal means to protect against discrimination in remuneration. | en |
