dc.description.abstractTématem této práce je komparace politických systémů Jižní Koreje a Taiwanu. Zkoumané země byly vybrány pro své charakteristické vlastnosti, které do určité míry sdílejí. Cíl práce je dvojí. Popsat a následně komparovat vývoj politických systémů s důrazem na 19. a 20. století. Dále analyzovat přechod k demokracii a důvody, které k němu vedly. Záměrem je aplikovat a následně potvrdit či vyvrátit předpoklady Samuela Huntingtona pro úspěšný přechod k demokracii. Pro vyhodnocení jsou použita data nevládních organizací a odborných institutů. Práce je tedy kombinací diachronní a synchronní komparace.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe title of this thesis is Comparison of Political Systems: Korea and Taiwan. The main goal is twofold: to summarize and subsequently compare political systems development focusing on nineteenth and twentieth century as well as to analyze transition to democracy and its causes. The metodology used is a combination of diachronic and synchronic comparative method. Korea and Taiwan had been chosen for its common features which makes it a suitable topic for comparison. The purpose is to compare Korean and Taiwanese political system. Another part of this paper deals with transition to democracy. The aim was to analyze factors that enabled democratization using Huntington's Third Wave hypothesis. Finally, the level of development of Korean and Taiwanese democracy has been evaluated considering the outcomes of Freedom House or Bertelsmann Stiftung's Transformation Index statistics.en
