Abstract
This thesis provides an overview of American federalism since the Second World War and analyzes the developments it has been going through. This paper provides clear evidences to the claim that federalism in the USA is getting more and more centralized, which means that the power of the national government rises, while the power of the States diminishes. Apart from this, attitudes of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party and their members to federalism are discussed.
