Úcta k benediktinskému opatovi sv. Maurovi ve středověkých Čechách

Abstract

Studie se zabývá kultem raně středověkého benediktinského opata sv. Maura, hlavního žáka zakladatele západního mnišství sv. Benedikta z Nursie, na území Čech od jeho nejstarších počátků v poslední třetině 10. století až do konce středověku. Text se za využití detailního výzkumu dobových pramenů na příkladu poutního cestování, relikvií či slavení posvátné liturgie snaží poskytnout první ucelené zpracování rozšíření a významu úcty ke sv. Maurovi v českém středověku.

The study deals with the cult of the early medieval Benedictine abbot St. Maurus, the major disciple of the founder of Western monasticism St. Benedict of Nursia, in the territory of Bohemia from its earliest beginnings in the last third of the 10th century until the end of the Middle Ages. The text, using detailed research of period sources on the example of pilgrimage travel, relics or the celebration of the sacred liturgy in an effort to achieve the first comprehensive capture of the spread and significance of St. Maurus’ reverence in the Bohemian Middle Ages.
