dc.description.abstract-translatedThis paper examines by a comparative study the historical and contemporary situation of women in the legal profession, especially in the Czech Republic and India. It briefly addresses the battles fought by women lawyers throughout the globe to be a part of the legal profession. It analyses the challenges faced by women in the profession and the possible practical recommendations to bring about the changes by improving the status of women lawyers. This paper is an attempt to make progressive changes in the women’s position as they are the significant part of the legal profession.en
