| dc.description.abstract-translated | The text was created in connection with the preparation of the renovation of the „new“ Nepomuk town hall and represents a partial contribution to a deeper understanding of the building history of the object. It focuses on the adaptation of the building for the needs of the municipal office, which took place in 1911. At that time, the „New Town Hall“, especially its facade, acquired its current form. Unfortunately, among the preserved archival materials, there is no documentation of the reconstruction or graphic designs of the facade’s plastic elements, but there is a whole range of documents preserved. In the article, based on these documents, we attempt to reconstruct not only the course of the construction work itself but also the broader background and motivations that led to the modification of house nr. 63 into a town hall. Thus, it is not only a article from history of architecture but also a certain microhistorical probe into the field of municipal self‑government with unintended elements of municipal‑political grotesque. | en |
