dc.description.abstractCílem tohoto textu je odhalit podobu sociálních interakcí a sociálních vztahů uvnitř Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game World of Warcraft. Vzhledem k herním specifikům je World of Warcraft ideálním prostorem pro sledování virtuálních sociálních fenoménu, které jsou diametrálně odlišné od sociálních fenoménů v reálném světě. Tento konkrétní výzkumný prostor je z pohledu sociologie relativně neznámý. Pro dostatečné teoretické ukotvení byly použity klasické sociologické teorie Georga Simela, Pierra Bourdieu a Ervinga Goffmana. Ke sběru dat bylo použito dvou základních metod. Jako primární zdroj informací byly použity polostrukturované rozhovory. Druhým zdrojem pak bylo zúčastněné pozorování v herním světě. Jako výzkumný prostor byly zvoleny české bezplatné herní servery.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe aim of the thesis is to examine the form of social interactions and social relationships in the Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game World of Warcraft. With regard to the game´s specifics is World of Warcraft a proper space for watching virtual social phenomena, which hughly differ from social phenomena in the real world. This particular research environment is relatively unknown from the view of sociology. I used classic socological theories of George Simmel, Pierre Bourdieu and Erving Goffman to provide sufficient theoretical background. There were used two main methods to gather data. As a basic source of infomation, semi-structured interviews were used. The second source was participated observation in the game world. As a space for this research were chosen Czech free game servers.en
