Jan Vičar – vysokoškolský hudební pedagog

Abstract

Profesor Jan Vičar (1949, Olomouc) působí již 52 let jako vysokoškolský pedagog, hudební skladatel, muzikolog, publicista a organizátor kulturního života. V letech 1973–1985 působil na Katedře hudební vědy a výchovy Filozofické a následně Pedagogické fakulty v Olomouci a současně od r. 1980 jako pedagog na HAMU v Praze, kde po listopadu 1989 spolu s Jaroslavem Jiránkem založil experimentální studium hudební produkce/ managementu, které pak řídil jako jeho vedoucí i tvůrce studijních plánů až do roku 1998. Zasloužil se o obnovení oboru hudební věda na Univerzitě Palackého v Olomouci a v letech 1990–2013 pak vedl Katedru muzikologie se dvěma přestávkami, kdy působil jako Fulbright scholar-in-residence na St. Cloud State University, Minnesota, a hostující profesor na Birmingham Southern College, Alabama. Od roku 2018 působí na Katedře hudební výchovy a kultury Fakulty pedagogické Západočeské univerzity v Plzni, kde je garantem doktorského studia.

Professor Jan Vičar (1949, Olomouc) has been working as a university teacher, composer, musicologist, publicist and organizer of cultural life for 52 years. In the years 1973–1985 he worked at the Department of Musicology and Education of the Faculty of Philosophy and then of Education in Olomouc and at the same time from 1980 as a teacher at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Prague, where after November 1989 he founded an experimental study of music production/management together with Jaroslav Jiránek, which he then directed as its head and creator of study plans until 1998. He was instrumental in the renewal of the field of musicology at Palacký University in Olomouc and in the years 1990–2013 he then headed the Department of Musicology with two breaks, when he worked as a Fulbright scholar-in-residence at St. Cloud State University, Minnesota, and a visiting professor at Birmingham Southern College, Alabama. Since 2018, he has been working at the Department of Music Education and Culture of the Faculty of Education of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, where he is the guarantor of doctoral studies.
