dc.description.abstractPráce se zabývá reflexí regentské a viktoriánské společnosti ve vybraných dílech soudobých autorek Jane Austenové a Charlotte Brontëové. Jedním z cílů práce je představit romány Jane Austenové Rozum a cit a Emma a romány Charlotte Brontëové Jana Eyrová a Shirley jako realistickou literární tvorbu. V teoretické části se práce soustředí na kulturně-historický kontext a literaturu první poloviny devatenáctého století. Praktická část je věnována analýze děl, včetně charakteristiky ústředních témat a stylu tvorby zvolených autorek, a interpretaci podpořenou sekundární literaturou zabývající se historií a kulturou devatenáctého století. Interpretované úryvky z děl se váží k následujícím tématům - politické a historické pozadí, společenské třídy a konvence, role majetku, manželství a postavení žen a atmosféra regentského a viktoriánského období.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis thesis deals with the reflection of the Regency and Victorian society as seen through the eyes of contemporary authoresses, Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë. One of the objectives of this thesis is to present selected novels by Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility and Emma, and selected novels by Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre and Shirley, as literary works of realism. The theoretical part of this thesis is concerned with the historical context and the literary environment during the first half of the nineteenth century. The practical part endeavours to analyse the selected novels by introducing major themes presented by the authoresses and by interpreting particular extracts from these novels. The interpretation is supported by secondary sources related to the history and culture of the nineteenth century, and focuses on the following themes - political and historical background, social classes and manners, role of property, marriage and women's position, and atmosphere of the Regency and Victorian period.en
