dc.description.abstractDiplomová práce se soutřeďuje na Richarda Rortyho a otázku jazykového idealismu. Rortyho dílo je vyloženo v kontextu třech dalších autorů, o něž se Rorty při své argumentaci opírá, tj. W.V.O. Quine, Wilfrid Sellars a Donald Davidson. Po analýze Rortyho vazeb na osatní tři filosofy, práce rozebírá každého ze zmíněných čtýř autorů vzhledem k tomu, které jazykově-idealistické prvky lze u něj vystopovat a jak ho můžeme hájit proti obvinění z jazykového idealismu. Předkládám tezi, že obvinění z jazykového idealismu je smysluplné jedině na základě určitého obrazu našeho vztahu ke světu, který předpokládá konfrontaci mysli nebo jazyka se zbtykem světa. Na konci se přikloním k názoru, že alespoň Davidson a Rorty zastávají jiný obraz našeho vztahu ke světu, a to obraz takový, že otázka jazykového idealismu by neměla ani vyvstat.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe thesis is primarily concerned with Richard Rorty and the question of linguistic idealism. Rorty's work is analyzed in the context of three other authors, whom Rorty uses as some of his main argumentative support in defending his theses, i.e. W.V.O. Quine, Wilfrid Sellars and Donald Davidson. After interpreting Rorty´s ties to these other three, I go on to analyze, what elements of linguistic idealism can be found in each of the four authors and how they could be defended against an idealism charge. I argue that the charge of linguistic idealism makes sense only on the basis of a certain picture of our relation to the world, which assumes a confrontation of mind or language with the rest of the world. I opt for the opinion that at least Davidson and Rorty put forward a different picture of our relation to the world, one in which the thought of linguistic idealism should not arise.en
