dc.description.abstractBakalářská práce se zabývá Karibskou krizí z pohledu Spojených států amerických. V práci je zahrnuto období před samotnou Karibskou krizí od Berlínské krize v roce 1958 až po stavbu Berlínské zdi v roce 1961. Je zde popsána také neúspěšná invaze Spojených států amerických na Kubu v roce 1961. Hlavní část práce se věnuje třinácti krizovým dnům v říjnu 1962, kdy byl svět na pokraji atomové války. V této kapitole se práce snaží analyzovat složitá jednání Výkonného výboru Národní bezpečnostní rady Spojených států amerických a události, které vedly k mírovému ukončení Karibské krize. Práce se snaží najít odpověď na otázku, co zabránilo vzniku nukleární války, která by se stala nejhorším konfliktem v lidských dějinách.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe bachelor thesis is about Caribbean crisis from the perspective of The United States. The work includes the period before the Missile Crisis from the Berlin crisis in 1958 after the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961. It describes the abortive invasion of The United States to Cuba in 1961. The main part is devoted to the thirteen days of crisis in October 1962 when the world was on the brink of nuclear war. In this chapter analyzes the complex negotiations of The Executive Committee of the National Security Council of The United States and the events that led to the peaceful termination of the Caribbean crisis. Work tries to answer the question, what prevent nuclear war, which would become the worst conflict in human history.en
