dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce pojednává o vývoji britské Konzervativní strany od počátku 19. století až po současnou konzervativní vládu Davida Camerona. Britský konzervatismus se vyvinul jako reakce na Velkou francouzskou revoluci. Ústřední myšlenky shrnul ve svém díle Úvahy o revoluci ve Francii anglický filosof a politický myslitel Edmund Burke. Na základě jeho myšlenek se později vyvinula britská Konzervativní strana, která tradičně patří mezi dvě největší politické strany v Británii. Tato bakalářská práce popisuje její vývoj, historické milníky a důležité osobnosti, jako například Roberta Peela, Benjamina Disraeliho, Winstona Churchilla či Margaret Thatcherovou. Obsahuje úvod, šest kapitol, závěr, seznam použité literatury, resumé a obrázkové přílohy.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis bachelor thesis deals with the development of the British Conservative Party since the beginning of the 19th century until the current conservative government of David Cameron. It started with the reflections of the British political thinker and philosopher Edmund Burke on the Glorious French Revolution. He summed up his ideas in his Reflections on the Revolution in France and these became the cornerstone of the Conservative Party which later became one of the two biggest British political parties. During the 19th century it stood against Liberal Party and during most of the 20th century against the Labour Party. This bachelor thesis examines the historical milestones as well as the most important leaders, e. g. Robert Peel, Benjamin Disraeli, Winston Churchill or Margaret Thatcher. It includes an introduction, six chapters, a conclusion, a list of references, a summary and a few additional materials.en
