dc.description.abstractDiplomová práce se zabývá působením amerických ozbrojených sil v západních Čechách v období druhé světové války i v poválečné době. Analyzuje jednotlivé etapy a operace spojené s působením amerických ozbrojených sil. Práce se zaměřuje jak na letecké operace, tak i pozemní. Dále mapuje americké působení v rámci okupační činnosti. Věnuje se také tématu vojenských zajateckých táborů, které americká armáda v západních Čechách vybudovala. Práce dále zmiňuje dvě speciální operace. Důležitou částí je kapitola pojednávající o sňatcích amerických vojáků s českými dívkami. Poslední kapitola pojednává o poválečném obrazu amerických jednotek a zaměřuje se na komunistickou propagandu, která se snažila americký odkaz pošpinit. Cílem práce je předat čtenáři ucelený přehled týkající se působení amerických ozbrojených sil a zhodnotit jejich roli v kontextu dějin západních Čech.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThe thesis deals with the activities of the American armed forces in Western Bohemia during the Second World War and in the post-war period. It analyses the individual stages and operations associated with the American armed forces. The thesis focuses on both air operations and ground operations. It also mentions the American involvement in occupation activities. It also deals with the topic of the military prison camps that the American army built in western Bohemia. The thesis also mentions two special operations. An important part is the chapter focuses on the marriages of American soldiers with Czech girls. The last chapter deals with the post-war image of American troops and focuses on the communist propaganda that tried to destroy the American legacy. The aim of the thesis is to provide the reader a comprehensive overview concerning the activities of the American armed forces and to evaluate their role in the context of the history of western Bohemia.en
