dc.description.abstract-translatedAfter the potential decision to adopt the euro in the Czech Republic, it will be necessary to take a number of legislative and non-legislative steps. Firstly, the aim of the paper is to provide a basic overview of these steps, which are not limited to the mere fulfilment of the Maastricht convergence criteria. Secondly, the contribution will demonstrate that these steps will have their benefits and costs which should be taken into account already when deciding to adopt the euro. The paper ends with a summary of consequences of the aforementioned steps for the euro adoption process in the Czech Republicen
