dc.description.abstractPráce se zabývá vývojem americké verze pluralistického myšlení od počátku 20. století do současnosti. Text se zaměřuje na porozumění ideologickému kontextu pluralistické tradice a snaží se představit myšlenky nejdůležitějších pluralistických myslitelů z perspektivy vývoje politické vědy jako takové. Zvláštní část práce se pak věnuje dílu současného amerického politologa Martina Gilense, který pro studium zájmových skupin a logiky reprezentace zájmů kreativně využívá moderních metodologických metod. Závěr se pak mimo jiné snaží nabídnout cestu, jak dále rozšířit naše porozumění logice zájmových skupin a reprezentace zájmů.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis bachelor thesis deals with the role of interest groups from the perspective of American pluralism. It introduces all the basic terms and explains the genesis of the American pluralist tradition and follows its path throughout the 20th and 21st century. The thesis focuses especially on understanding the ideological foundation of the pluralist journey as it tries to put the thoughts of leading pluralist scientists into a proper perspective, mainly by providing context of a development of political science as a whole. A separate part of the thesis introduces the findings of a leading contemporary political scientist Martin Gilens. In his book, Affluence and Influence: Economic Inequality and Political Power in America, Gilens uses modern and creative methodology to find a link between the economic status of citizens and the responsiveness of the US government. Gilens and his colleagues offer a rather pessimistic view of the state of US democracy which doesn't particularly fit into narrow boundaries of traditional pluralist theory. The conclusion aims to offer a way to further advance our understanding of interest groups and of the logic of government responsiveness.en
