dc.description.abstract-translatedThis article presents the method of inquiry-based teaching and its possibilities in teaching Czech language and literature. The authors proposed a lesson structure for the 9th grade of ele mentary school, which is dedicated to the personality of Milan Rastislav Štefánik and the issue of the Czechoslovak legions in the First World War. They consider the method to be suitable mainly because it activates students, evokes their older knowledge and at the same time leads to the development of independent thinking and formulation and expression skills of students.en
