dc.description.abstractTato práce popisuje strukturu anglických lingvistických slovníků uchovaných na různých typech médií a poskytuje srovnání šesti vybraných slovníků. Teoretická část práce stanovuje roli lexikografie ve spojitosti s produkcí slovníků a popisuje slovo z různých úhlů pohledů v rámci jednotlivých oblastí lingvistiky. Dále pak charakterizuje strukturu tištěných anglických lingvistických slovníků i jejich elektronických verzí. Celá teoretická část slouží jako podklad pro následnou analýzu. Praktická část nejprve popisuje vybrané slovníky. Následně je srovnává s ohledem na zvolená kritéria a uspořádání jednotlivých slovníkových vstupů. Analýza vybraných slovníků je doplněna dotazníkem o anglických slovnících. Výsledky srovnání slovníků a dotazníku společně určují nejlepší typ slovníku, nejoblíbenější typ média, na kterém se slovníky uchovávají, a stanovují důvody této volby.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis work describes the structure of general English linguistic dictionaries that are saved on various media of recordings and provides a comparison of six selected dictionaries. The theoretical part states the role of the lexicography in connection to dictionary-making, describes the word from different points of view within particular areas of linguistics and finally, it outlines the structure of the printed general linguistic dictionaries as well as their electronic counterparts. The theoretical part serves as basic material for the subsequent analysis. The practical part firstly describes the structure of the selected dictionaries. Secondly, it compares them according to the chosen criteria as well as in terms of the arrangement of individual entries. This analysis is followed by a questionnaire about English dictionaries. The results of the analysis and the questionnaire identify the best dictionary from the selected types, the favoured medium of recording alongside the reasons for this choice.en
