dc.description.abstractTato práce se bude zabývat příčinami porážky Jihu v občanské válce v USA. Tento konflikt byl jednou klíčových událostí v amerických dějinách, jež měla Spojené státy formovat v následujících desetiletích, a započal éru moderní války. Práce se bude zabývat příčinami secese jižních států a celého konfliktu. Práce se bude dále zabývat průběhem války a jejími důsledky pro americký jih. V práci bude autor dále analyzovat jednotlivé faktory určující vývoj války, jako byly ekonomická situace států, vojenské a velící složky, industrializace a podobně. Dostane se i k nejdůležitějším bitvám, zejména pak u Gettysburgu, které samotnou válku přímo nerozhodovaly, ale značnou měrou přispěly k porážce Konfederačních států. Na závěr autor zanalyzuje a shrne následky války v dějinách této světové mocnosti.cs
dc.description.abstract-translatedThis dissertation work will discuss the causes of defeat of South during Civil War in the USA. The conflict was one of the key events in the US history that was to form the United States in the following decades and also it was the beginning of modern war. This work will discuss the causes for secession of southern states and causes of the conflict. Moreover, it will cover the progress and its consequences for the South. The author will also analyze each factor determining the war development, for example economic situation of the US, military and command elements, industrialization etc. The author will also look into the major battles, mainly into the causes of the Battle of Gettysburg that did not determine the war directly but did contribute to the defeat of Confederate State to a considerable extent. Finally, the author will summarize the war consequences in the history of the USA.en
